Graduation Ceremony - Fall 2008

Oct 20, 2008

P1080353

Our graduation ceremony was a great success last week! The AIM Indianapolis Fall 2008 Graduating Class was sent off in style by the staff, faculty, family and friends in attendance for the ceremonies.

Everyone was beaming with pride and a sense of accomplishment was in the air as our graduates walked across stage to receive their diplomas from the School Director, Eric Cook. And, we all had a chance to hear some wonderful words of encouragement and gratitude from our Student Speakers - Jason Moon and Tom Lumpkin.

On top of all that, two of our graduates had the opportunity for further blushing of cheeks when they were called back on stage to be recognized as with individual awards.

AIM Indianapolis awarded Jeremiah Cluxton and David McMillian as Outstanding Graduates in recognition of their continued commitment to academic excellence throughout their careers at AIM.

We hope you enjoy the online photo albums of our ceremonies last Friday! Please view them here:

Pizza Pizza Pizza !!

Jun 10, 2008

The AIM Indianapolis Campus has hosted our 2008 Mentos & Diet Coke Competition!  The day was filled with fizz, foam, and fountains!!

Each class competed to produce the tallest soda fountain using Diet Coke & Mentos candies for fuel.  The individual classes designed, tested and delivered all sorts of nozzles and apparatus for the event.

We are excited to announce that James Jackson’s class on day session won the first round of competitions.  And, Dave Livesay’s & John Rastenburg’s classes tied for winning positions on evenings.  We congratulate them all!!

Now, pictures speak thousands more words than this blog ever could.  And, VIDEO speaks even more!  So, rather than narrating the entire day of events for you … why don’t you take a look for yourself!

Not only do we have the regular round of pictures for you, but the biggest news is that AIM Indy now has our own YouTube Channel !!

Check it all out:

Show me the money!

Apr 29, 2008

The AIM Indianapolis campus recently hosted a Program Advisory Committee Meeting with several professionals from the local and national aviation maintenance industry.

One of the topics of discussion raised during the meeting was the availability of scholarships for our students while attending school. Dan Montgomery (Montgomery Aviation - Zionsville, IN) presented information about a scholarship for Aviation Maintenance students offered by the Aviation Association of Indiana. Dan is a board member for the AAI and recommended that the staff of AIM-Indy contact the AAI and deliver the information to our student body.

On Monday evening and Tuesday morning Mark Holloway (Director of Education) did just that. With help from Scott Hopper (Director of Admissions), he contacted the AAI, gathered the information, printed applications, and delivered the news to our students.

The scholarship is worth $1,500 toward tuition for students attending an Aviation Maintenance college program in the state of Indiana. In order to be eligible as an applicant the student must have graduated from an Indiana high school (or obtained an Indiana GED), hold an average (or higher) grade point average, be actively engaged in extracurricular activities or work experience, have unmet financial needs for their education, obtain a letter of recommendation from a current instructor, and meet the May 16th filing deadline.

If you are interested in applying for the scholarship, please complete an application (found on the “Scholarship Information” table outside the Financial Aid Office) and see Mark for further details.

The entire AIM campus extends our deepest gratitude to Dan Montgomery for bringing this scholarship to our attention and for playing such an active role in our students’ success stories. We also thank Maria Muia, PhD., of the AAI for assisting us with the application process and encouraging our students to apply - we are proud to participate in the AAI scholarship initiative. Opportunities to partner with leading aviation professionals and associations makes our industry, our school, our graduates and our students more successful.
